I hope the festive season is treating you all well! I always get a craving for gingerbread cookies this time of year so I thought I would make some and also give them to my friends as a treat. I’ve never made them before so I went out and bought some cookie cutters and googled for recipes. I ended up coming across a Martha Stewart recipe which sounded perfect. It uses Molasses and dark brown sugar and most importantly!!… lots of ginger!
I also used her icing recipe but substituted Meringue powder instead of raw egg whites. This was my first attempt at decorative cookie icing. It’s much harder than I thought it would be but I ended up with some presentable ones and they seemed to be a hit with my friends which is the most important thing. Happy holidays!!!
